15 Olympic Runners Worth Over One Million Dollars

I have a post coming up later today all about running the Redbug trail, but in the meantime (aka while I go take some photos for it) this will have to hold you over.

Just like the title says, here is a list of some of the richest runners in the world. All of these Olympic athletes have a net worth of $1 million dollars or more, though they didn't all make their millions through running.

The obvious Bruce/Caitlyn Jenner tops the list at $100 million. You didn't forget that he was a decathlete in the '70s did you?

Fastest man alive
Usain Bolt, believed to be the fastest person in the world, this Jamaican sprinter, at only 28 years old is worth $30 million

Alan Pascoe, yeah, I didn't know who he was either. After his Olympic career, this Brit went on to be successful in marketing and is worth $30 million

Carl Lewis, winner of 9 Olympic gold medals, this Alabama native is worth $20 million

Tyson Gay, perhaps the second fastest athlete in the world, Gay holds the American record in the 100m and is worth $12 million

Fake bite on that medal?
Eunice Barber, quite the drop in worth here, but Barber from Sierra Leonean is the top woman on the list at $5 million

Mo Farah, most of us are familiar with "Mo," but did you know he's only a little bigger than I am?

It's like we're twins, if only he'd share some of his $5 million with me.

Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, another young, Jamaican sprinter, Fraser-Pryce is worth $4 million, one for each name, I guess.

Cathy Freeman, this Australian sprinter won her first Olympic medal at the 1996 Summer Olympics and is worth $4 million

Ben Johnson, born in Jamaica, this sprinter medaled for Canada in the 1988 Summer Olympics only to later be disqualified for steroid use. He's still worth $2 million.

Yohan Blake, winning the silver in both the 100 and 200 meter events, Blake is the youngest on this list at 25: $2 million

Dawn Harper, two-time Olympic medalist, this American is worth $2 million.

Sanya Richards-Ross, Richards-Ross needs to get with Fraser-Pryce and talk about that mil for each name deal. This Jamaican American took home the gold in the 400m in the 2012 Summer Olympics and is worth  $1.5 million.

Lolo Jones, specializing in bobsled and hurdles, this American is worth $1.5 million.

Justin Gatlin, another American sprinter, Gatlin is a gold medalist in the 100m, worth $1 million.

What do you think? Any surprises here? Aren't you inspired to get out on the track and earn your millions? This middle-packer is going to have to earn it some other way.
